Base Camps are unique outdoor education adventure space. The program is owned and operated by the Boy Scouts of America. Base Camps provide outdoor adventure for ALL families in addition to providing programs for Scouts.

For over 100 years the Boy Scouts have been known for outdoor skills and leadership development. Now those programs and adventures are available to everyone! So bring your daughter, your husband, and your grandparents to enjoy an educational adventure for everyone!

Our programs are open year-round! Although many activities are seasonal there is always something exciting going on at Base Camp.

Depending on the location, you can climb the 50-foot ropes course, learn to shoot archery or throw axes, try bouldering, rock climbing, or ice climbing! Prepare for the worst with wilderness survival training and perfect your camping skills and outdoor skills including cooking, ropework, and woods tools. You'll learn about Native Americans, make primitive pots, tools, and clothing, and jump in the indoor Olympic-size competitive pool!

Our “Adventure Day” programs are family programs and a parent or guardian must attend with their child. At many activities, parents can participate with or along-side their child.

We do offer specialty workshops on certain days where parent-participation is not required.

Many activities are self-guided. At others, our staff will provide program instructions and safety oversight. However, parents are expected to maintain discipline of their child and to intervene with their child if they become frustrated, disruptive, or unruly.

All our adventures and more are available starting at $30 per person, per day.

All our activities are age appropriate, yet everyone can do just about everything. There are activities perfect for elementary, middle and high school age youth. Almost all our activities are scaled to provide an achievable challenge. There are a few activities like ice climbing at New England Base Camp that require certain physical capabilities, so those activities have age and weight restrictions.

A full breakfast, lunch, and dinner is available for purchase at New England Base Camp on Saturdays.

The Base Camps are a collaborative project of three independent Scout councils that are part of the Boy Scouts of America. The camps are owned and operated by their respective council, each a non-profit corporation based in their state.

We provide great volunteer opportunities at each Base Camp. All volunteers go through the same rigorous background checks and safety training as staff. Many volunteers often share unique skills and opportunities to enhance the programs, while others volunteer on a regular basis and gain skills along the way. THE FOLLOWING POLICY APPLIES TO ALL DAY, ONLINE & OVERNIGHT CAMP PROGRAMS

• Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing via email or letter to the Spirit of Adventure Council, Boy Scouts of America #227, 2 Tower Office Park, Woburn, MA 01801 or support@experiencebasecamp.org.
• Refunds must include the name, unit (if a participating Scout), the program, camp session or class, and an explanation for their absence.
• Refund requests for online classes will only be granted for documented illness or death in the immediate family. Scheduling conflicts will only be refunded to a gift card/credit for a future class.
• Requests for refunds more than 60 days prior to the start of a camp session will be granted with the deduction of a non-refundable $50 deposit.
• AFTER 60 days prior to a camp session start date, refunds will only be granted for illness or injury (a doctor's note may be requested) or a death in the immediate family. Other emergency situations may be considered at the discretion of the General Manager.
• An attendee who becomes ill or injured during a multi-day activity may receive a pro-rated refund as determined by the Program Director.
• Refunds will not be granted for scheduling conflicts, no-shows, weather or behavioral issues.
• Refunds will not be granted to attendees who leave by their own choice or are asked to leave because of behavioral issues.
• All refund requests must be made within 30 days of the camp date. No refunds will be granted for any reason if requested after this time.
• Registrations may be transferred to an alternate available session without penalty. Transfers for multiday activities can be done up to two weeks prior to the camp start date.
• Refunds will only be made to the individual (or Unit if a Scout) who made the original payment.
• Any activity, camp, or online class that is canceled due to an act of God, natural disaster, pandemic, etc. will be refunded.
• Parents have the right to review background check, health care, & discipline policies as well as grievance procedures upon request.
